Carolina Meadows is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that offers a “continuum of care” that includes maintenance-free living, independent housing including meals, social activities, scheduled transportation, housekeeping and maintenance. Health care services include on-site skilled nursing care for residents who become temporarily ill or who require long term care. Access to a physician, prescription drug and rehabilitation services are also provided. Other on-site amenities include a full service library and offer a University Speaker series six times a year. The University Speaker series invites administrators and faculty from UNC-Chapel Hill and other Triangle area universities to present on a wide variety interesting and informative topics. Other events and activities on the Carolina Meadows campus include Saturday night movie showings, choir practice and performances, studio art and dramatic art clubs and performances, as well as Music at the Meadows – a series of concerts put on by professional musicians at the Carolina Meadows community center.
A range of residency options is offered including studio and two-bedroom apartments, and one-bedroom and two-bedroom villa residencies. Both apartment and villa options available with den space. Carolina Meadows is located near Jordan Lake, about 10 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill and 25 minutes from downtown Durham. The Jordan Lake area has a few restaurant options nearby such as Tarantini Italian Restaurant, Bean and Barrel Restaurant and Subway. A Food Lion is right down the road.
