Lochmere neighborhood consists of 1,965 households divided into 24 subdivisions, located on Lochmere Drive between Southeast Cary Parkway and Kildaire Farm Road.

The subdivisions give a small-neighborhood feel ,while being part of the larger community offers benefits that would be costly for a smaller association to maintain. Properties range from townhomes and cluster homes, where the grounds are maintained by the community association, to large $1 million-plus lakefront homes. Most homes range from the $300s to the $400s.
