According to recent Census figures, the Raleigh-Cary area grew by 4.3% from July 2007 to July 2008. The closest area in terms of growth is Austin, Texas which grew at a rate of 3.8%. Although Raleigh-Cary is still growing, there is no doubt that this growth has slowed down over the previous two years where the growth rate was at 4.7%.
Chapel Hill-Durham are not in the top 10 fastest growing area, but it is still growing. It came in at a steady growth rate of 2.5%.
