When traveling south on 15-501, halfway between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro, you will notice the huge “farm” on the left hand side of the road. The farm’s Belted Galloway cows are noticeable from the road, and many people will stop in just to take a peek at this special place. What many may not realize is that this is actually a neighborhood and housing community in which they can purchase a home!

Fearrington Village is home to nearly 2,000 residents, including active retirees, young families, and working professionals, and is located just minutes from Chapel Hill, NC. The community offers diverse neighborhoods, from wooded estates to smaller-scale homes close to the amenities of the well-known Village Center.
The Village Center offers a peaceful, resort-like feel and setting, featuring gourmet shops and dining, as well as a spa. When you visit Fearrington, you will see McInterye’s Books, a wonderful old-world bookstore where you can sit in front of a roaring fire and read a book. Don’t miss the Dovecote Style clothing store; The Goat, a deli Fearrington Houseand coffee house; The Roost Beer Garden; The Haven Spa Boutique; and the The Granery, a casual dining restaurant. Fearrington is also known for its Five-Star Inn; The Spa at Fearrington, which is elegant and serene; and the 5-star restaurant, The Fearrington House, a fine dining restaurant led by Executive Chef Colin Bedford and Wine Director Maximilian Kast. If you go to the Fearrington House for dinner, make sure you go hungry! The food and wine are outstanding.
While many of the houses look identical from the shopping area, note there are many other options available within Fearrington. When first driving through Fearrington, you may feel as if you have stepped into a 1960’s movie! The feel is quite unique and the sight lines are unlike any other place near Chapel Hill, Raleigh, or Durham.
