North Carolina recently established a program to help homeowners who are having trouble making their mortgage payment due to “job loss or temporary financial hardship.” Homeowners who qualify can get an interest free loan up to $24,000 for up to 24 months or up to $36,000 for 36 months in the hardest hit North Carolina counties. This loan can be used to pay for your mortgage and other related expenses.
There are two programs: one for first mortgages and one for second mortgages as well.
