Each and every month we learn a little bit more about the Durham-Orange light rail transit project. Not long ago many people living in Downing Creek were upset because C2 and C2A lines were going, literally, right through their back yard. Anyone that has been in this part of Chapel Hill knows that the Durham and Orange County line will greatly determine where the lines go. Most people living in Meadowmont and the retirement communities around Meadowmont are going to push for the transit line to be across Highway 54 in the Downing Creek neighborhood area. Below is a photo that will show you the initial plans of the light rail transit in Durham and Orange County.
You can find much more information about the project on the 2015 presentation located here. If you have any questions as it relates to the light rail and how it will affect real estate values contact Real Estate Experts today. We can also help you find or sell a home in an area in which you feel comfortable. Chapel Hill and Durham are sure to grow drastically in the next 15 to 20 years and the light rail project will be the talk of the region.
