South of Chapel Hill and west of Raleigh, Chatham County is popular for more than just it’s location. Many buyers find low property taxes, large acreage per home, and low home prices in both Pittsboro and Siler City extremely attractive. Natural amenities, including nearby Jordan Lake, are also benefits for homebuyers. While median home sales in the area have risen of the last few years, the median price per home is still below $260,000, making it a more affordable or as affordable as similar counties in the Triangle area, such as Orange County ($275,000) or Wake County ($255,000).
