Building a house takes a team; building a community takes a great team effort. David Weekley Homes, as builders, pride themselves and their teams on their affinity to create homes, not just houses. They create energy efficient homes with impeccable design and custom choices to help you create your dream home, with phenomenal customer service. Your home building experience will be personalized to fit the way you live.
David Weekley Homes is also the first home builder to win the Home Building Triple Crown, including: America’s Best Builder, National Builder of the Year, and National Housing Quality Award. And they’ve struck again, creating a new community of homes right here in the
triangle.
Chapel Run
This community is David Weekley Homes’ newest creation.
The beautiful Chapel Run is currently being built in Durham, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Chapel Hill. While there are 40 single-family homes to be built in Chapel Run, there’s also 40 townhomes planned for the community too. All homes, though, will be energy-efficient with David Weekley Homes’ EnergySaver technology. With great location, and a builder with more than 40 years of experience you can expect this community to be the best in design, choice, and service.
The size of these homes will vary over five different floor plans, but single family homes can be expected to range from 1,925 to 2,400 square feet. As for price, they’ll begin in the low $300,000s. Townhomes, on the other hand, will begin in the mid $200,000s. Affordable, adorable, and well within the coveted $200,000 to $400,000 price range.
Floor Plans at Chapel Run
David Weekley Homes created five different floor plans for Chapel Run: the Calderwood, the Chantrey, the Pinegate, the Lucille, and the Monrovia. Each floor plan includes two stories, two full bathrooms, as well as a two car garage. Bedrooms and half-baths differ between floorplans, but each home has at least three bedrooms. Just one look at these floor plans will have you dreaming of what your own home could look like nestled in Chapel Run.
The customization options are endless. Regardless of the floor plan you choose, here are some customization options:
- Covered or screened porch
- Fireplace
- Tray ceilings in Owner’s Retreat
- Bathroom layout options
- Cooktop in the kitchen
Rest assured, those aren’t your only customization options. Certain floor plans also include a study with French doors, and loft layout
choices. Thanks to David Weekley Homes’ “FlexSpace”, you can customize certain rooms to match your needs. Fortunately, these builders offer a design center where you can take a look at all of your design and customization options in person. Personal design consultants are available, too. The design center for Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill area is located conveniently in Cary right off of I-40.
Things to Do in Durham
Located conveniently by I-40 too, Chapel Run has the advantages of both Durham and Chapel Hill amenities nearby. Living in this area means an easy commute throughout the triangle. Not only is public transportation easily accessed here, but Raleigh Durham International Airport is a short commute away.
Durham is home to an incredible variety of entertainment and cultural experiences. Not to mention some of the best food you could find in the Triangle.
Durham Performing Arts Center frequently hosts plays, concerts, and comedians as they tour. The Streets at Southpoint are just a few miles away at exit 276 on I-40, providing a fantastic shopping opportunity at one of the area’s largest malls. Complete with an IMAX Movie Theater, Southpoint has entertainment for the whole family. Get out and enjoy some hot dogs at the Durham Bulls Ball Park, where baseball games are hosted regularly.
Things to Do in Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill has no shortage of delicious food, cultural experiences, and entertainment for the whole family too. Live & Local, Chapel Hill’s free music and art series, is held in the Plaza Friday nights during the spring and summer. Beginning in June, Chapel Hill hosts “Movie Under the Stars” every Thursday night, so be prepared to grab your favorite lawn chair and head to Wallace Plaza for free popcorn, telescope demos, and other activities. For sports lovers, you can’t forget the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, home to the Tar Heels and ACC champions.
Chapel Hill and Durham each have something for everyone. Jordan Lake and Eno River State Park are nearby. Get your aquatic fix by floating down the Eno River, or take the boat out on Jordan Lake. If hitting the water isn’t your thing, there are other opportunities to get you outside. North Carolina Botanical Garden makes for the perfect afternoon walk. Grab your clubs and hit the golf course, located less than five miles from the Chapel Run community.
Education
North Carolina has no shortage of good schools, especially in the Chapel Hill area. Creekside Elementary School, Githens Middle School, and Jordan High School are the schools within 2.5 miles of Chapel Run. While the community is zoned for Durham Public schools, there are other public and private options nearby like Montessori Community Private School, and St. Thomas More Catholic Private school.
Don’t forget, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is only a stone’s throw away! UNC offers phenomenal healthcare and nationally renowned academics. Duke University and the Blue Devils rival Chapel Hill in both sports, healthcare, and academics. With these schools nearby, you can be sure you’ll have good higher-education options.
